Students will be introduced to the basics of blackwork embroidery by learning to read an embroidery pattern and stitch a Celtic Knot design. Once they understand how to stitch their knot, they will learn how to make their work unique, by adding colour, borders, and other designs to their piece. Lastly, their stitched art will be put in a square or round window card that they can send to someone or frame for themselves.
Fee: $40 guild member, $50 public
Material Fee: embroidery card kit for $10
Please note we’ll be using embroidery hoops borrowed from the guild that will not go home with you. If you would like a hoop to take home, they will be available for an additional $5.00 each.

Students will be charged $10.00 for their embroidery kit, which will include two 6” pieces of 11-count Aida cloth, an embroidery needle, a handout of instructions and patterns, one square or round window card with an envelope and a wide variety of embroidery floss to customize their stitched design.
