Jointly operated by The Burr House Spinners & Weavers Guild and The Hill Potters’ Guild
The Burr House is a historical site in Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada. Built in the 1820’s, the Burr House is the oldest building still occupying its original site. The Burr House houses unique one-of-a-kind handcrafted items by Guild members and local artisans, in a historical setting. This wonderful heritage building is taking its place once more as a hub for artistic endeavours by the Burr House Spinners and Weavers Guild and the Hilltop Potters. Already being used for workshops, meetings and Guild Sales, we look forward to pop-up art shows and other artistic activities. Watch this space! The best is yet to come.
The Guild Hall, built in 1857 by the Evangelical Association of North America, was moved in 1978 to the Burr House site by the Town of Richmond Hill. Both buildings are currently in use. Guild Hall houses the Hill Potters’ Guild downstairs and the Burr House Spinners and Weavers (upstairs)
