Weaving: Summer Winter

A one-day workshop is planned for newer weavers using a 4 shaft table loom introducing the participants to this family of weaving patterns.  This weave structure uses 2 shuttles, 2 different weight and colour yarns, and tabby picks to create a stable cloth. An introduction to block patterns will also be included.

The participants will be expected to setup their own looms before coming to the workshop, with detailed instruction provided upon registration. The instructions will outline the type of yarn to be used and the threading pattern for setting up your own warp. Sheila will provide warp setup support of anyone who needs it the day before the workshop at the guild.

Table looms may be borrowed from the guild if you do not have your own. We have 5 or 6 looms available at the guild. We have some white cotton, appropriate for this project at the guild, as one of the yarns, that can be used for a  donation to the guild, if a participant would like to use it. The second yarn used will be specified but not provided, unless a participant does not have her own stash, we will try to find something appropriate.
