Learn the basic art of basketry in this course for beginners. Historically, any basket with a flat bottom, either square or rectangular has been broadly classified as a utility basket.
In this course, the participant will be guided step by step through each stage of the basket-making process while creating a square market basket measuring approximately 8” x 8”, using rattan reed. The participant will learn various weaving techniques that will help gain the knowledge needed to continue with this craft.
A separate $20 material fee will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of the class.
