Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or just starting out, join us for a fun Saturday of creative
sewing! Make your own reusable cloth bags, aprons, or pillow covers, or give new life to
garments from your wardrobe. The instructor is excited to offer friendly, personalized guidance
for whatever project you choose. To help you get the most out of the workshop, please reach
out to the instructor ahead of time with your project ideas. That way, they can recommend the
best materials and make sure all the supplies and instructions you’ll need are ready for you.
Want to make an apron? The instructor will provide a basic knee-length pattern for you to
personalize. Bring along 1½ meters of fabric and some matching thread or get creative and use
old jeans or other clothing to upcycle! Feel free to bring any embellishments or extra fabric if
you’d like to add pockets or special details. Everyone can use a handy bag for sewing supplies,
crafts, or everyday errands! Handcrafted bags also make thoughtful gift or wine bags, and cloth
totes are perfect for groceries. The instructor will show you how easy it is to design and sew
your own bags. Bring ½ to 1 meter of your favorite fabric or upcycle old clothes to make
something truly unique.
Don’t worry if you don’t have fabric—there will be some available to
purchase at the workshop. A few sewing machines will be available to use, but please bring
your own if you can. Most hand tools will be provided; just remember to pack your fabric
scissors!
